Grace, Strength, Love

Welcome back! I hope you had a good Christmas holiday. We are looking forward to a great term of learning ahead! There are lots of exciting things coming up soon!

Topic

There is an Emergency on Planet Earth! This term we will finding out all we can about our planet, its continents, countries, biomes and habitats. We will also explore natural and man-made disasters and consider how we can help stop this global emergency becoming a disaster!

PE

PE will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays this term. On Tuesday, we will be doing dance in the hall, and Thursdays will be Tag Rugby outside. Please ensure children come into school with appropriate PE kit for those days.

Homework

As per the school policy, we will not be setting regular formal homework to hand in, but there are a number of ways to support children's learning at home:

Reading

Read with your child at least weekly and encourage them to spend time reading every day if possible (even if just for 5 minutes). Reading journals were made by every child in September. This is a book where children can review the books they have read. This is expected to be kept up to date by the children, who will be invited to share their reading with their peers.

Maths

Later this year, the class will undertake the national times table test in which they are expected to be confident using their times tables up to 12 x 12. Children should participate in daily practice of number fluency. This can be done via online maths games that you can find here.

Please see below for a guide to the Multiplication Tables Check.
