Grace, Strength, Love

Topic

Our topic for this term is focusing on the 'World Above Us'. We are particularly honing in on the space race and the political climate around the world at the time. Please encourage your children to do any research at home as we will be having weekly discussions around the history of this. We will also be looking into the science behind the solar-system and studying the moon cycles at home; it is currently a special time in our night sky so get out there and have a look with your children!

PE

PE will be on Monday and Wednesday afternoon with with me (Mr Unsworth). Please ensure that you come into school on these days wearing school PE kit: shorts or tracksuit bottoms (depending on the weather), trainers, school jumper or fleece.

Homework

Children are expected to participate in daily reading and maths practice as outlined below:

Maths - Children should participate in daily practice of number fluency. This can be done via online maths games that you can find here.

Reading -  The children are expected to engage with daily reading at home, books from school can be taken home for reading pleasure and these should be recorded in reading journals. Reading for pleasure is important so make sure you read a variety of texts, it does not have to be a narrative story. If you are struggling with book choices please use this resource for some recommended reads (click the link)
